How did you get into riding bikes?
My parents are mountaineers, so they’ve had me out in the hills as long as I can remember. I used to skate, but it took me about 3 years to do an ollie, then I saw Joe Barnes’ Dudes of Hazzard series, and Josh Lewis’ ATL videos. So my grandad built me a bTwin out of spare bits and I got to jumping about in the woods!
What’s your favourite discipline?
I raced enduro for years. Trying to race blind gnar after a week of mile munching is a mad feeling. I love messing around at a dual slalom, but other than that it’d be Yorkshire cyclocross, a la 3 Peaks (a super silly race in England). Although nowadays it’s filming bikes, if that counts (feels like a sport more than an art!).
Favourite non biking hobby?
I’m a trad-climber day-to-day. One of the best things ever. That tied with having long intellectual discussions with my Labrador.
Got any hidden talents?
Not super hidden, and not sure about talent, but music! Surrounded by some super talented people at home, and I love putting raves on with my mates.
What’s your biggest achievement?
2 CWX Deep Summer wins was pretty ultimate. Also, Full Plates, a charity music event my super talented partner Cat invented. It’s a big party we do that raises money for food banks in Sheffield.
What’s your dream?
To make cool stuff that gets people stoked to go out and do more cool stuff.
